I don't share these favorable opinions. Too often they are drug addicts just looking to get high. Most live miserable, depressing lives. Pimps, violence from johns, running from cops etc. The idea of a struggling mom, the girl trying to pay for college etc, are just the exceptions that prove the rule.

 

Prostitution needs to be legal. Take the pimps, pushers and abusers out of the picture. Regulate it and have regular medical checks for STD's. This will also stop wasting the time of the police when there are far more important issues for them to pursue. Also a source of tax revenue instead of the cash going into the pocket of a pimp or pusher.

In countries where prostitution is legal there is much less of the coerced, abused situations. If a woman can earn a hundred bucks an hour in a safe environment, why not? If a man wants to spend his cash with a woman instead of jacking off to porn (which, really, is just filmed prostitution), why not?

 

The elites, ie. government, can't make money off of prostitutes. I should clarify that answer. can't make money off of ladies working the streets.

 

Sex workers here have a lot more rights than some other places (depending on the state), so as long as they were doing it ethically, I wouldn't care.
