Setlabotjha Primary School celebrates Teachers’ Day

The event was graced by guests from other schools to celebrate the day in style.

SEBOKENG.- Setlabotjha Primary School celebrated Teachers’ Day in style recently.

It was an unforgettable day for teachers and school principal Thandi Mafube, all dressed in black and white outfits with a touch of red. The day was dedicated to empowering each other.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Limit-Breaker Nkemele said the school pledged to teach the learners with dignity. Guests from various sectors with Dr Pinky Nkabinde motivated educators on how to present themselves as teachers. The event was graced by guests from other schools to celebrate the day in style. Siqelo Primary School deputy principal Florence Mabula was also among the speakers.

She inspired the teachers to turn their vision into reality, transitioning from being a hero to shero.  Nkemele described the event as something special with representatives from SADTU in attendance.

“As a school, we learned a great deal from every speaker who contributed on the day. We learned that teaching is not just a profession but a calling, because we are called to rescue children from future captives, poverty, and negativity including low self-esteem. I must say this event was a debriefing as a whole to share and gather information from other colleagues who are educators and have passed all that they have achieved and have more experience in the teaching field. It was a great day because, among other things, we learned how to nurture the child’s future,” said Nkemele.

Matube also took advantage of this occasion to award the teachers with certificates for their commitment and dedicated hard work to make Setlabotjha Primary School one of the best schools in the area.

In conclusion, Nkemele acknowledged all the stakeholders who played an important role in making this event a huge success, including the School Governing Body (SGB) and individual teachers who were instrumental in putting together this big event. It was an unforgettable day for teachers and school principal Thandi Mafube, all dressed in black and white outfits with a touch of red. The day was dedicated to empowering each other.
